Exercise keeps your body healthy and fit, but there are phases in life where you think twice before exercising. One such phase is pregnancy. A lot of women have doubt in their mind whether they should exercise during pregnancy, or not? The answer is yes. There are specific exercises that women can perform during pregnancy. The idea is to keep fit and prepare your body. Do not strain yourself at any point in time. More active you stay during pregnancy, easier it will be for you to adapt to your weight gain and changing body shape. Exercising will also help you bear the labor pains and get back in shape quickly after you deliver the baby.

Below are a few tips to keep in mind while exercising during pregnancy.

Do not exhaust yourself at all. You can continue with exercises, but will need to cut down as the pregnancy progresses. It is highly recommended to get regular checkups and advice from your healthcare provider during this phase. Generally, as a rule to exercise during pregnancy, do it with intensity that you can hold a conversation. If you become breathless as you talk, you are probably putting too much strain on your body. A lot depends on your habits before pregnancy. In case you were not physically active before pregnancy, do not straightaway put strain on your body. Ideally, one can perform exercising sessions lasting 15 minutes daily for 3-4 days per week. You can increase gradually as tolerated.

Always warm up before you exercise and cool down after completing it. It is very essential to keep yourself active on a daily basis. If you cannot do exercises, you can go for a walk for half an hour. But, remember, never get breathless.

Getting breathless will indicate that you are doing more than you should. Avoid any strenuous activity or exercise in hot weather, as it causes you to sweat and lose energy more quickly.

Drink as much water as you can. Recommended is more than 10 glasses per day. Go for juices, mineral water, vegetable soups, etc. These even provide nourishment to your body in addition to keeping it hydrated.

Perform exercises regularly, but there is a point you need to stop. Identify that point. Ask your healthcare provider if you are confused. Exercising after a particular point in pregnancy puts too much pressure on the baby, which can prove to be harmful.Learn to
